MIrror Lake State Park

Imagine that...we went to a cubs game and they actually won!

The week went by quickly with both of us trying to catch up with work. Yesterday we went to Mirror Lake State Park. We signed up for a couple events that the WI DNR puts on last March and the first one was yesterday. We have another one in October. The hike was straight into the woods, no trail to follow. It focused on invasive species. I took a couple pictures just to give you a feel for the trip. Mom didn't really like it but I bought her ice cream at Culver's afterwards and that made up for it.

On the way home we took a side trip to visit Devil's Head resort. The country side is beautiful.

We saw hundreds of plants and I can't remember any of the names. Next time we'll bring a pad and pencil.

I risked my life climbing down a ravine to see these bluffs. It was a very steep climb on sandstone. I'm not sure I would do it again. Got the shot though.

Mom and I couldn't remember the name of this flower. I think it's an orchid called Pink Moccasin but I could be wrong.

Our guide Matt.

Matt was really into this. In the picture he's holding several books that he brought on the hike. They are tattered and torn but I got the feeling he wouldn't leave home without them.

We have lots of chores to do today so we'll end this and get to work. Talk to you later.
